On what was a ssurprisingly dry late May Bank holiday weekend all the Folkestone District cub packs, including 3rd Hawkinge, went off to Ross Wood for a cubs centenary camp. After the young people got over the shock of having to leave all electrical gadgets at home, the Leaders and District committees bravely rose to the challenge of entertaining almost 200 cubs! Activities such as archery, football, pioneering, outdoor scouting skills, arts and crafts and making personalised dog tags made this an easy (okay, moderately easy!) task.
A campfire brought all the groups together with a heartfelt sing song! On Bank holiday tired, slightly dirty but happy cubs were successfully returned to their parents! A good time was had by all, even the Leaders!!!
